OUR LOVE STORY
The story began with Marcus reaching out to Angelina and inviting her out to coffee. Angelina agreed, but that initial meet up was delayed by South Florida flooding. This led to an initial two-hour phone conversation where they discovered a great deal of common interests and priorities. They first met each other in-person at the Upper Deck Ale and Sports Grille in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
They were quickly enamored with each other during their first date and their long-term potential was clearly evident. Marcus knew upon meeting her that she would be it for him if God made a way for it to happen. He viewed her as being everything that wanted in a mate. Angelina knew from the moment she met Marcus that something was different about him. She’s always heard you will know when you have met the “one” but felt it was a cliché, but she understood at Upper Deck that the saying was true- he was everything and more she’s been believing God will bring forth.
The next day Angelina sent Marcus the audiobook “The Alchemist” which ended up being a forecast for their journey of walking by faith one step at a time and trusting that God will always make a way.
After their first date at Upper Deck, they would go on to meet somewhere different almost every evening for the next three weeks as they got to know each other better and their bond increasingly grew. Over this period, they developed an incredible head and heart connection, and it became clear to each other that their purposes were in alignment and that they were soulmates. Their journey together continued, and they became best friends as their love continued to grow deeper and stronger.
On September 26, 2022, Angelina’s Birthday, Marcus surprised her with a love-filled marriage proposal in front of her family. She said YES, and they celebrated together the fulfillment of a dream come true for them both!
